My mother looked straight at me with her piercing eyes and, without even blinking, stood up and faced me. Her mouth barely opened, and those words were spoken: “We. Do. Not”. Then she closed her lips as hard as she could. She had more to tell. Will I ever find out? I know I won’t, not tonight, not from her.
So what brought me happiness, or that joy that you all feel? I’m not sure I have ever felt that, though, looking at probabilities, I should have.
Family traditions are met to stay. They are established for a reason or simply due to a habit from everyday life. So why break them? Moving with someone else and having to combine traditions to keep the peace. Or sometimes, sometimes something will rush and crush everyone's life and force that change.
Living in a small town, everyone knew me, and I was the geekiest they have ever had. With all the new technology coming out every day, no one could keep up, except me! Yeah, I proud of that. They all need me and I try to be super nice. I feel unique, special, and have no competition. The downside, well, I’m lonely. No one likes what I like. We do enjoy some of the same movies but nothing to my level. I love dragons, magic, and swords, and oh do I love axes! That universe can tell so many different stories, with a long history, complicated backgrounds, intriguing characters, the possibilities are endless. Tonight it will all be different.
Opening my eyes I was suddenly here with no notion of my past. I felt weak, being barely able to get off the ground. My knees were shaking, my vision still blurry. After a few moments of slow movements, I managed to stand, not straight but stand nevertheless. From the bright light I saw, I was finally able to see what was in front of me. Several old feelings rushed inside me without any knowledge of their truthfulness.
